The past three days me and my future flatmate Cara went on a spontaneous trip to explore Barcelona, our hometown for the next four years. When we met in Costa Rica four months ago, we found out that we will both start the same studies at the same university. And as if that would not already be a really big coincidence, Cara is also from Germany and lives not even 40 min away from my home. In the meantime we got to know each other a lot better and by now I call her a really good friend of mine and I am beyond thankful to have some like her by my side to start this exciting new chapter of my life.
After we finally decided to get an apartment together, it didn’t took us very long to find one that we loved. The only bad part is that we cannot move in earlier then a day before university starts. So all we have for now is an address.

This is the street that will be our new address and I’m super happy that I will soon go in and out of this place which is to me the epitome of a cute little narrow Spanish street.
After our examination of the outside of our apartment we took the Metro to the station Alfons X. It is quite a hike to get from there to the Bunkers del Carmel but as you can see the view is definitely worth the strain🤗
Afterwards we definitely deserved our insanely tasty and good looking brunch at my favorite cafe. It is called Brunch and Cake. There are a few of these spread throughout Barcelona. All are serving brunch all day long😋😋
Then we made our way to the shopping mall (where else should we go🤷🏼♀️). We went to the center Maremagnum which is located at the harbor of Barcelona. The port happens to be quite a nice background so we couldn’t miss the chance to get some pictures:
After spending a night in an hostel, which was in walking distance from Plaça de Catalunya, we strolled through the streets of the Gothic Quarter.
Here we also got to see the Cathedral of Barcelona. An impressive building right in the middle of the historic part of the city:
Again we ended up at La Parella, the nice passage along the habor and once more we couldn’t miss to take some pictures at this nice spot🌞
Then it was time to return to the hotel, to get our bags and make our way back home. See you in three months Barcelona👋🏽
